Binge-worthy Telly

Friday 31 March 2017

For my first official post on this blog I thought I would start with something that relates to me very well... television. I'm not going to lie to you, I watch waaaay too much TV, but I'm sure I'm not the only student/teenager who falls into this category, right?!
As I watch a lot of TV, I thought that I could share just a few of the binge-worthy TV series' that I have been obsessed with recently, both drama and comedy. This is the kind of post that I enjoy reading so I hope you do too, and if you haven't been watching any of the shows that I am about the mention then I am doing you a favour, trust me!

Riverdale

Riverdale is a new Netflix series based on the Archie Comics about the dramas that unfold upon a group of teenagers and their families in the town of Riverdale when the unexpected and unsolved murder of Jason Blossom takes place.
I am not usually a fan of drama, but once I finished the first episode, there was no way I was going to stop until I was up to date, I just couldn't stop! The constant last-minute clues definitely keeps you guessing and on your toes, and not only is the storyline so intense, but the cast is just so talented... and beautiful! (p.s. If I haven't convinced you yet then maybe mentioning that Cole Sprouse from one of everyone's favourite childhood Disney classics, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, plays Jughead; surely I've convinced you now!)
New episodes are uploaded to Netflix UK every Friday.

Young and Hungry

This surprisingly stars another well-known Disney Channel star from the good old childhood days, Emily Osment from Hannah Montana. She plays the brilliantly funny and witty Gabi Diamond who dreams of becoming a famous chef and ends up working for a IT millionaire Josh Kaminski and so it follows the many hilarious and also loving moments between the two and their friends after an unexpected, mistaken one-night stand situation. This in my opinion is one of the shows that is very underrated. It's on it's fifth season now which is amazing and it has just started premiering on UK television which makes me so so happy. Honestly, give it a watch, every episode has me in stitches!

Lucifer

Lucifer, again in my opinion, is another unappreciated, brilliant drama series starring Tom Ellis as the devil himself, Lucifer Morningstar, who is bored of hell and so decides to move and start a new life in Los Angeles where he eventually meets detective Chloe Decker and begins working for the LAPD (Los Angeles police department). I began watching this show purely for Tom Ellis who I was a big fan of for his role in the hit British sitcom 'Miranda', however, since the first episode I have been purely hooked on the storyline of the devil and discovering who he truly is, as well as the progressive relationship between him and Chloe. Not only is this a gripping drama, but it also cleverly adds appropriate levels of humour which is what makes this series so special; there's not many drama shows that can make you giggle here and there!

Broadchurch

Broadchurch is a British drama on ITV starring David Tennant and Olivia Coleman playing Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller, two detectives from the town of Broadchurch. Series 1 & 2 focus on the murder and trial of a boy from the town, whereas the current series (Series 3) revolves around the sexual assault upon Trish Winterman.
This show never fails to keep you glued to the screen with such shocking twists and turns that I have never experienced quite a intensely with any other drama series. It is a must watch for sure, even if you just watch it for the beautiful David.

The Big Bang Theory

This hit US comedy series centres around the lives of physicists Leonard and Sheldon, and their stunning new neighbour across the hall, Penny. I have been watching this show since around 2010 and it was the best decision I ever made, possibly the funniest show on TV at the moment. If you have never watched the show before and are thinking of doing so, do. But also, start from the very beginning. There are 10 seasons at the moment so it may seem a lot to get through but trust me, it will make following the storyline a lot easier and you will find the show much funnier. Once you start you won't be able to look back.

So these are just a few of the shows that I have been watching constantly at the moment for anybody who is looking for a new series to binge on. Let me know which TV series' you have been obsessed with as I now also need a new good show to binge on!
